High precision & high dynamic 5-axis monoblock vertical gantry machining center for special composites, aluminum, steel and super alloy
Available in various configurations to provide a perfect answer to the needs of specific applications, including molds and dies, aero structures, and composite materials machining. This machine is ideal for hi-feed roughing, semi-finishing and finishing of medium-size workpieces in steel, lightweight alloy or special composites.
Compact size
Matrix E1 features an excellent ratio between machine dimensions and axis strokes. This makes it possible to work on large size workpieces in the same footprint, compared to others available on the market. The cross stroke (Y=2,500 mm) and the longitudinal stroke (X=2,000 mm), allow a reduction of the machine depth, thus enabling the operator to carry out check operations in optimal visibility conditions.
Superior force, speed, and precision
A fully thermo-symmetrical structure equipped with the Thermal Shield system, reduces structural deformations without resorting to costly cooling systems. The use of direct drive motors for axis movements eliminates backlash and vibration caused by drive belts. Matrix E1's heads feature large bearings that provide the stiffness needed for the heaviest duty machining. The use of high-resolution encoders and liquid-cooled axes guarantee high accuracy.
Versatile application
Breton Matrix E1 allows high-speed roughing operations, with exceptional performance even in the semi-finishing and finishing phases. The availability of a wide range of electrospindles, which can be installed on different heads, allows Matrix E1 to work efficiently on different materials such as hardened steel, aluminum and composite. The wide range of available accessories allows a flexible configuration to meet the needs of different sectors, such as Aerospace and Mold & Die.
Reduced installation times and costs
A monobloc structure of reduced size and weight simplifies the shipping process. Matrix E1 is delivered already assembled, greatly reducing installation time and costs. Matrix E1 monobloc structure means simple flat foundations are sufficient. Careful design of the anchorage points minimizes the amount of cement and chemical anchors required to fix Matrix E1.
Operating costs reduced by half
The use of an advanced lubrication system eliminates dirt, stains on parts, hazardous vapours and reduces maintenance and operating costs. The Rexroth CytroPac hydraulic control unit, in turn, reduces consumption through variable pressure management. The use of the Thermal Shield system, applied to the thermo-symmetrical structure of Matrix E1, guarantees optimal control of thermal expansions without using expensive cooling systems. An efficient chip evacuation system and the use of stainless steel covers ensure a clean work area at all times and reduce operator intervention.
